Music Monday – Do I Wanna Know?

musicmonday

Aaaand we’re back for the 2nd ever Music Monday, lovelies, and as I was listening to an old playlist this week I re-discovered “Do I Wanna Know?” by Arctic Monkeys. Not only do I love this band in general, but one of the fans of my Thalia series sent this to me in an email and told me how much it reminded her of Marcus, the villain whose obsession with Thalia takes him over the edge into crazy land. If you’ve read the series, just listen and imagine him drunk in his house staring at all those pictures of Thalia up on his wall. Gives me the dark and shivery chills every time!

A few of my favorite lines:

“Have you no idea that you’re in deep? /

I’ve dreamt about you nearly every night this week. / …

cause there’s this tune I found that makes me think of you somehow/

and I play it on repeat, until I fall asleep, /

spillin’ drinks on my settee.”

So perfect! Anyway, while you’re listening to this and thinking of Marcus’ madness… do you have any other songs that represent characters of mine? Send them over or comment here! Maybe I’ll use it and give you a shout out on another Music Monday. Until next time, lovelies!

Dominant on the Dance Floor with #SatSpanks!

Saturday Spankings blog hop

Well, hello, lovelies! It’s time for another Saturday Spankings blog hop! We’re back on the dance floor with my current menage erotica work in progress ‘Reunited’. Megan and her ex-high school boyfriend, Eric, are at her 10 year high school reunion. (if you want to catch up from #WIP Wednesday, click here) They’ve been watching their friend Colby dancing like an extra from Magic Mike, showing off his delicious abs, but then Megan brings out Eric’s dominant side when he cracks a joke about the fake jobs they had told each other earlier in the story.

“He’s got no shame,” Eric laughed and spoke directly into her ear. His breath against her cheek sent a shiver over her skin.

“Did Colby ever have shame? I think he was born without that functional part of the brain.”

“Well, I was a brain surgeon for a while… I could check.” He was grinning when she leaned back from him and slapped his shoulder. In a flash his hand was around her wrist and he’d flipped her around so she was against his chest – but now he had her arm pulled slightly up behind her back. Somehow he managed to keep dancing, his other hand keeping her hips in beat with him as he restrained her with ease. A memory of him pinning her to the narrow bed she’d had in her parents’ house emerged and a frisson of heat pulsed down her spine to nestle itself between her thighs. “Now, that wasn’t very nice, Megan.”

Her mouth went dry as his voice purred out her full name and she was ninety-percent sure that the hard press against her back wasn’t something in his pocket. She felt seventeen again, excited and unsure about what to do next. She tried to swallow to regain her voice, but all she managed was a breathy, “Eric?”

“Do you want me to let go?”

Purrrr, I know I don’t want him to let go! He’s hot! This scene isn’t quite done yet because I have a feeling Colby is just about to cut in. Come back on Wednesday for the continuation of this scene! In the mean time, check out all of the other lovely authors on the #SatSpanks blog hop below!

Interview with Livia Grant and her new book ‘Expecting it All’!

EIA

My very good friend has a special Valentine’s weekend treat for all you readers out there, her latest book in the passion series ‘Expecting it All’ will come out THIS WEEKEND! If you haven’t read the Passion Series yet, that’s okay because this book can be read as a standalone – and let me tell you, it’s lovely! The book follows two of the characters in her fantastic ensemble cast, Derek and Rachel Parker, as they prepare to have a baby. Now, in most books it would all be celebrations and baby showers, except for this age-play/BDSM couple it means that Rachel is struggling with the idea she may not be her Daddy Dom’s little girl for much longer.

If you’ve ever wondered what happens to the relationship when an age-play couple has a baby, then this is the book for you! Also, if you just want to read about a bunch of Doms brought to their knees by a wailing infant, prepare to laugh and cry along with them in this fun, quick read that will surely make your Valentine’s weekend just a little sweeter.

Now, without further ado – let’s hear a little from Livia Grant herself!

JB: So, Livia, you know I adore your Passion Series and your previous release ‘Protecting it All’ was all action-packed, dark drama (which I loved!), but what made you write this light, fun book so quickly after?

LG: Part of it was I had this vision of three Doms and a baby, and the moment I knew that Rachel was going to have a baby I just had to explore and see what that would look like. It was just this scene in my head I couldn’t get rid of!

JB: You write age play so well, and you make it so approachable and I have always connected with Rachel and Derek just because of how well you write them. What made you want to include a couple with this dynamic in your series?

LG: I really am attracted to the psychology behind age play. At first I couldn’t understand it and so I kept reading different books until I could really get where it was coming from, and once I got it I just had to include it. It’s just such a fascinating relationship, and I wanted to explore it myself in my own mind and I can do it even better in my writing!

JB: What was your favorite scene in the book (no spoilers)?

LG: Before I started I would have said the three Doms scene because it’s such a comedy, and I also really really love the scene where the baby is born. I guess I have to say that the scene when their baby is born was just… magical, and it made ME cry. I think that, as an author, if I can make myself cry I’ve done something right.

JB: The psychology behind BDSM and the various groups within that umbrella of kink seems to be a consistent theme in all your books. Did you study psychology or is it just a passion (pardon the pun)?

LG: Um, that’s funny. Believe it or not I did get my minor in college in psychology, and  it’s always been a passion of mine. My dad has always been frustrated that I never used it in my day job, but I’m thrilled that I’m finally getting to use my education a little bit and in such a fun way.

JB: Was there any part of the book that was hard to write? I’m always curious about where other authors struggle!

LG: This book just flew out. I saw it very clearly and it came easy, unlike its predecessor ‘Protecting it All’ which was, by far, the hardest book I ever had to write. I think it was because this book was fun, romantic, and had a lot of joy in it which is so much easier to write for me. Writing dark can take a lot of an author, but this was easy! Well, unless you’re Jennifer Bene, because that’s your thing, I just have to dig deeper for it.

(It’s true!)

JB: What’s next for you and the Passion Series? Will your next book be with these same super hot and fun characters, or are you doing something different?

LG: I’m thrilled that the next book in the series is going to be a crossover with the amazing Masters of the Castle series. Lukus and Tiffany will be spending part of their honeymoon in Ohio in the Castle with Master Marshall and Kaylee, exploring Tiffany’s kinks. They may even bring a Dom or two back to Chicago for The Punishment Pit.

JB: Holy shit, that sounds hot!

Definitely keep up with us on Facebook and Twitter so you know the moment ‘Expecting it All’ goes live and can grab this amazing book! It will be available on Amazon, here. In the mean time, I’m going to keep pestering Livia to get out the next book so we can read it next!

UPDATE: It’s live! 1-click this deliciousness now! Expecting it All!

Thankful Thursday

Alright, lovelies, it is Thankful Thursday and I have so many things to be thankful for this week. ‘Security Binds Her’ hit #1 in several categories on Amazon a few different times this week, I peaked at #8 on the erotica author’s list, I signed a contract for my next book ‘Taken by the Enemy’ with Blushing Books Publications, AND I’ve sold quite a few books. Stellar week, right? Well, even with all of this goodness it is still only Thursday which means we allll deserve some sexiness to stare at until Friday comes to whisk us away into the weekend – and if I’m going to get to pick who carries me off, I definitely wouldn’t mind Ryan Reynolds showing up. #‎droolworthy‬ I’ll be checking him out in Deadpool ASAP! Enjoy, lovelies, and may Friday come quickly!

Reunited with #WIPITUP Wednesday

WIP Bloghop

Back to another #WIPITUP Wednesday and I’ve got my actual work-in-progress to share with you! (Taken by the Enemy has been officially accepted by the publisher and I’ll have more details about it later!) Last year I participated in an anthology and wrote a story called ‘Reunited’ about a woman going back for her 10-year high school reunion. I think many of us have had nightmares, and fantasies, about how that might go for us – but I decided to go the fantasy route. Because, hey, erotica author.

Anyway, I wanted to let us all get introduced to this book as I work on the individual release and the extended extra that will come out with it! In this scene, Megan Harper has been cozying up to the bar to avoid the people she doesn’t want to talk to at the reunion, when someone special arrives.

“Can I have another pink fizzy whatever the hell it is?” Meg sighed and leaned her head on her hand as the bartender appeared in front of her.

“Decided you liked it?” He grinned.

“It wasn’t the worst thing ever.”

“See? Sometimes trying something new ends up working out perfectly. Here you go.” He slid the glass in front of her and wandered off. Just as she took a sip she heard a voice shout from halfway across the room, breaking through Gold Digger like it wasn’t on top volume.

“MEG?! Megster!” Her eyes tracked until she landed on the one face she had completely dreaded seeing, while at the same time secretly hoping for more than anything.

Eric Lewis.

His smile was still Colgate commercial perfect, his dimples looked like they’d been punched into his cheeks by God himself, and he was all broad-chested muscle as far as she could tell through the very sharp suit hugging his body. Meg had to remind herself to shut her mouth, and stop drooling, and to fucking smile and not gawk at him openly.

How had she ever dated him and why on earth had she ever broken up with him?

Eric engulfed her in a hug that smelled like heaven and her arm slipped around his back to hug him in return. “Holy hell, Eric! I haven’t seen you in –”

“Ten fucking years, Megster.” He leaned back and grinned at her with that same wicked smile that had quite literally melted the panties off her in high school. He’d been her first, and to date he’d still been her best. How many women could say that?

With an internal flinch she couldn’t decide if that was actually depressing or not.

Ohhhh, I’m going to love introducing you to the characters in this story. It’s hot, hot, hot! While you’re waiting on these snippets to start heating up, check out the other authors on the blog hop below and keep coming back for more ‘Reunited’ snippets!

PS – The first book in my Thalia series hit #1 on Amazon this week! If you haven’t checked out ‘Security Binds Her’, go ahead and grab a copy!

BestSeller

Now go on and check out these other lovely authors on the #WIP Wednesday blog hop below!

‘Security Binds Her’ hit #1 on Amazon tonight!

I honestly can barely breathe right now, after the insanity of last week (both personally and author-wise) today feels like a dreamscape for so many reasons. The best of which is that ‘Security Binds Her’ became a best-selling book in Amazon Erotica tonight! I never thought this day would come, it’s something you dream about when you start writing, that one day you might get the chance to say you’re a best-selling author – but it always feels like a fever dream. Something that will never happen. Well…

TONIGHT IT HAPPENED! I can barely think straight at the moment, and I’m just so very grateful to everyone that found Thalia’s story this week. Who knows how long it will hold on to the front page of Amazon Erotica, but in the mean time I’m going to celebrate the best way I know how – with a glass of wine, and all of my lovely author friends and readers cheering me on over Facebook, and Twitter, and text messages. I feel so fortunate, so lucky, that people have liked this dark corner of my mind so much.

In the opening note of ‘Security Binds Her’ I say that we have to see the darkness before we see the light. Last week was the darkness, and this week is the light. I couldn’t ask for anything more.

As always, lovelies, you make my world go round!

Music Monday – We Have it All

musicmonday

Just like Thankful Thursday, this little random day-of-the-week event started because I was posting on FB and people seemed to like it. Music Monday began when I was furiously writing and started posting youtube links to songs that were landing on my writing playlists, and people loved the songs and enjoyed talking about them in the comments. (Side note: my main writing playlist is called ‘Writing Dark’, which tends to make my friend Myra Danvers laugh – but she always appreciates the music suggestions).

So, to start this off officially, and help all of us start our week’s off on the right foot, I felt like I needed to revisit the one that became an earworm for many of my friends.

PS – the video for this is just cool.

Currently, I’m working on revising and adding an extended extra to my BDSM menage book, ‘Reunited’! Keep checking the blog for snippets on the blog hops!

So, I can’t stop listening to this song. The LYRICS. His VOICE. I love it.

#SatSpanks with ‘Taken by the Enemy’!

Saturday Spankings blog hop

Well, hello again, lovelies! I have wonderful news about ‘Taken by the Enemy’… it’s officially been accepted by the publisher and a little bird mentioned that I should be able to release details around it soon! So exciting! For this week’s blurb I decided to go back to the beginning and show you what it was like when Emmie first showed up in the village with her hands bound. Enjoy!

“Lucian, you’re back! Get us anything to eat?” A man pushed himself up from the ground near the entrance and stepped forward with a broad smile. His hair was a long, reddish-brown, and his eyes roamed over her as his smile faded into a much different grin. “Well, you at least got something to feast on.”

Emeline growled low. “Just try it, asshole.” She tried to jerk away from Lucian’s grip on her neck, but his fingers tightened viciously and held her in place.

The man’s eyes widened, and he laughed, but Lucian’s dull nails just pressed into her skin, his mouth close to her ear, “What did I tell you about respect?”

She spat at his feet and Lucian threw her forward onto the ground, barely able to catch herself on her shoulder instead of her face. “Shit!” Emmie groaned as the ache radiated up over her back.

“You found a wild one!” The man shouted with laughter in his voice.

“You have no idea.”

I just love their interactions, it was so much fun to write! Speaking of writing, I am moving along in my writing list to my next works so the next blog hop will likely be from my next release. But if you’re hungry for more ‘Taken by the Enemy’ flip back through my blog and check out all the lovely snippets! Once you’ve done that, browse these other awesome authors from the blog hop below.

Thankful Thursday

It’s Thankful Thursday, and today I’m thankful that even though Amazon screwed up royally on releasing my deal (they released it in UK but something happened and it didn’t go live in US until late today), BookBub is going to work with me on getting another date for Security Binds Her. I’ll update all of you as soon as I have the info. Although this week has been a nightmare from hell, cute guys always make it better. Cute guys with a beard and tattoos are just what the doctor ordered. With his help, Friday should arrive and hopefully bring a better day. So, here you go my lovelies! Thanks for supporting me today!

A Step Too Far #WIPITUP

WIP Bloghop

Welcome back for another #WIPITUP Wednesday blog hop post from my upcoming book ‘Taken by the Enemy’! This week’s post is from much farther into the book where Emmie should know better than to cross the line with Lucian, but she takes it a step too far anyway. Enjoy!

He stood up, facing off with her and she hated that to meet his eyes she had to look up at him. “Don’t do this,” he whispered, but her rage overflowed from that hollow place inside her, filling her to the brim.

“Shut up, Lucian.” Emmie turned to walk away from him, and the collective gasp from a few people around her should have been warning enough that she’d gone too far, but it was made clear when he yanked her back by her hair.

“You do not get to speak to me that way.” Lucian pulled her back against him, his fist twisting in her hair until the pain made her eyes water. “I warned you,” he hissed into her ear, and she remembered his threats from a few days before.

“No, no, Lucian -”

“Quiet. You’ve lost the right to speak. You’ll earn it back once you’ve been punished.” His voice was like iron as he pulled her with him through the gathering of people to a nearby tree. “Someone bring me some rope!”

“Lucian! Don’t do this, don’t -”

He shoved her forward against the tree and pressed himself against her back. “Be glad I’m not stripping you naked for this.” Lucian spoke low, and she could hear the anger in his voice. Someone must have brought him rope because he grabbed one of her arms and a rough loop slid over her wrist. “Move and it will be worse, I promise.”

When he stepped away from her, her first thought was to run, but he was already wrapping the rope around the tree, and then he had her other wrist in his grip and the rope was being pulled tight. Emmie couldn’t see what he’d done, but when he appeared next to her she couldn’t move back. “I’m sorry -”

“No. You’re not.” Lucian’s voice was hard as he reached between her and the tree to unbutton her pants, jerking them down along with her underwear despite her efforts to close her thighs. “But you might be after this.”

Eek! I think Emmie might have made him angry, what do you think? I do hope you’ll keep coming back for more snippets of this book and my others I’ll be working on soon, because NEWS! ”Taken by the Enemy’ is officially done and is off to the publisher! I hope to be able to make more official announcements about that partnership soon, but until then check out these other hot snippets on the blog hop below.
