Santa has something special for Christmas!

In lieu of my normal Ask Me Anything, Santa has something special for us for Christmas, and let’s just say I’ve definitely made the naughty list this year and there’s no way he’s going to be giving me presents. Fortunately, I don’t think he’s noticed my penchant for punishment quite yet (he does have so many boys and girls to keep track of) and so I’d appreciate it if no one would tell him when he bends me over his desk and takes off that belt?

It would be appreciated.

Enjoy, lovelies, and have a Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah! We’ll be back in the swing of things next week!

Lee Savino interviewed me ‘Between the Sheets’ about BDSM and my life!

The completely wonderful Lee Savino asked me to come to her blog for her ‘Between the Sheets’ interview series on her website where she takes some time to dive in deep with authors who live and write the BDSM lifestyle. This is a long and rambly interview, and about as random as most of the conversations Lee and I have together – but I figured you lovelies would like to read it.

Between the Sheets: An Interview with Author Jennifer Bene

In case you’re not convinced to read this very NSFW interview, here’s a few snippets to tempt you:

“a flogger can kiss like angel feathers or sting like a fucking demon’s tail. LOVE IT.”

Lee Savino: How does your life imitate art or vice versa?

Jennifer Bene: I’m pretty adventurous when it comes to BDSM, and it helps that I enjoy pain, so when it’s reasonable (SSC) I usually ask the Dom to do something with me before I write it. I like to write from experience where it’s possible…

“…probably the spanking bench scene in ‘Lethal Sin‘. It was actually inspired by my Dom’s spanking bench, because he likes to tie me down to that and use all kinds of implements. The week before I wrote that scene he’d tied me down and used a crop (and a cane and a flogger) and I was so turned on and so deep into sub-space afterwards, I knew I had to use it in a book!”

Go check it out, share the interview, spread the word – and leave comments! Let us know what you think so that she can go forth and interview many other real life kinkster authors! Who knows, maybe we can pick up some fun tips!

‘Security Binds Her’ hit #1 on Amazon tonight!

I honestly can barely breathe right now, after the insanity of last week (both personally and author-wise) today feels like a dreamscape for so many reasons. The best of which is that ‘Security Binds Her’ became a best-selling book in Amazon Erotica tonight! I never thought this day would come, it’s something you dream about when you start writing, that one day you might get the chance to say you’re a best-selling author – but it always feels like a fever dream. Something that will never happen. Well…

TONIGHT IT HAPPENED! I can barely think straight at the moment, and I’m just so very grateful to everyone that found Thalia’s story this week. Who knows how long it will hold on to the front page of Amazon Erotica, but in the mean time I’m going to celebrate the best way I know how – with a glass of wine, and all of my lovely author friends and readers cheering me on over Facebook, and Twitter, and text messages. I feel so fortunate, so lucky, that people have liked this dark corner of my mind so much.

In the opening note of ‘Security Binds Her’ I say that we have to see the darkness before we see the light. Last week was the darkness, and this week is the light. I couldn’t ask for anything more.

As always, lovelies, you make my world go round!

A little folk song from ‘Taken by the Enemy’

This is a freebie because I don’t think it quite works on any of the blog hops I’ve been participating in, but I wanted to share it and since it’s BookBub week for ‘Security Binds Her’ I need some solid distraction so I don’t freak out. There’s a scene in ‘Taken by the Enemy’ where our heroine, Emmie, gets drunk and starts to sing. I wanted her to sing a folk-type song but couldn’t find one I liked… so I wrote one.

Here it is (it helps if you sing it like you’re drunk, at least, it helped me when I was writing it!)

“Oh, once I was a little blackbird,
a merry blackbird was I.
I flew o’er hills, and I flew o’er seas,
and I flew free where my wings took me.

Yet, wherever I went,
no matter how the time spent,
I never could feel alive.
Cause wherever I went,
in the rain or the sun,
no one ever flew beside me.

Then one day I flew o’er
a sweet little house,
and I heard a voice call to me.
Oh little black bird, please come sing for me,
so I settled at her window.

Now you might ask,
how a girl made me happier,
than the wind and all of the trees?
But I say you never met a lass such as this,
and by golly, how she could kiss!”

Did someone say Top 10?

Ah, that must have been me. Because ‘The More The Merrier‘ just hit Top 10 on Amazon for Romantic Erotica!! WHAT?! I know, I’m speechless as well. In less than a month our little anthology has flown up the rankings and all of us are excited, and appreciative, and a lot of other really happy adjectives that I can’t think of right now because my brain is so tired from writing three things at once (I know, I have writing ADD, be prepared for some updates on those projects soon). The point is, this is a huge success. We have been in the top 1000 list several times in the last week (it updates hourly) for ALL of Amazon. That’s ALSO a huge deal because it means out of the kajillion books available on Kindle in a hundred different categories, we have been within the 1000 best selling on the site.

That. Is. Mind. Blowing.

It also makes me even more excited for my personal projects that are slated to come out in 2015. What an incredible thing to be a part of, and it’s all thanks to each and every reader. YOU. So, you know, thankyouthankyouthankyou.

And if you thought I wouldn’t screen cap this milestone, well, you were wrong. EVIDENCE!
