Music Monday – Havana

Today’s #MusicMonday is a remix of ‘Havana’ by Camila Cabello and Daddy Yankee and it’s the first song on the writing playlist for ‘Imperfect Monster’ which goes live on SATURDAY! We’re so close to this delicious dark romance, and I can’t wait for you all to meet Andre and Nicky in their full glory. The book is set in Miami and there’s random Spanish interspersed throughout, so I knew I wanted to listen to some great songs in Spanish as I went and the second I heard this one I fell in love. From the fantastic beat, to her sweet voice, and the mix of English and Spanish – it just speaks to me and this book so well. I hope you enjoy it, lovelies, and if you haven’t pre-ordered yet… do it!!

Lyrics

Havana, ooh na-na. (ayy)
Half of my heart is in Havana, ooh na-na. (ayy, ayy)
He took me back to East Atlanta, na-na-na…
Oh, but my heart is in Havana, (ayy)
there’s somethin’ ’bout his manners, (uh huh)
Havana, ooh na-na. (uh)

Él vino a buscarme y ahí lo supe, (uh)
vi clara su actitud
Me dijo: “son tantas las que yo tuve” (uh)
Pero me faltas tú
no puedo soltarte, no seas tan cruel (hey)
Desde esa noche azul
Mi papá me dice que malo es él (uh)
¿Qué más puedo hacer?

Ooh-ooh-ooh, lo supe en un segundo,
Él cambiaría mi mundo.
Ya no puedo más
Ooh-ooh-ooh, ay y es que me duele mucho.
Decir adiós, oh na-na-na-na-na

Havana, ooh na-na (ayy)
Half of my heart is in Havana, ooh-na-na (ayy, ayy)
He took me back to East Atlanta, na-na-na
Oh, but my heart is in Havana (ayy)
My heart is in Havana (D-D-DY)

Ta’ acompañada o andas sola, ooh-na-na (sola, sola)
Pero que fácil me descontrola, ooh-na-na
Tú me quemas, vuelves y me enrolas, me enrolas (ah, ah)
Llegamo’ pal’ mambo, suéname el tambor
Pa’ que te recuerdes de La Habana y el campo
La libertad que bien te sabe
¿Cuándo volverá? sólo Dios sabe
Mami ¿qué bolá?, ooh-na-na
Ta’ acompañada o andas sola, ooh-na-na (sola, sola)
Pero que fácil me descontrola, ooh-na-na
Tú me quemas, vuelves y me enrolas
Camila y Ramón Ayala de un pájaro son las dos alas, oh-oh

Havana, ooh na-na (ayy, ayy)
Half of my heart is in Havana, ooh na-na (oh, ayy, ayy)
He took me back to East Atlanta, na-na-na (oh, no)
Oh, but my heart is in Havana (ayy)
My heart is in Havana (ayy)
Havana, ooh na-na

Ooh na-na, oh-na-na-na (oo-ooh)
Vamos pa’ la habana, vamos pa’ la habana
Take me back, back, back like…
Ooh na-na, oh na-na-na (yeah, babe)
Vamos pa’ la habana, vamos pa’ la habana
Take me back, back, back (like…)
Ooh na-na, oh na-na-na (yeah, yeah)
Mucha ropa cara pa’ la habana-bana-bana
Take me back, back, back like…
Ooh na-na, oh na-na-na (yeah, babe)
D-D-DY, DY, Camila Cabello

Havana, ooh na-na
Half of my heart is in Havana, ooh na-na (oh, yeah)
Diggy-diggy-diggy-Daddy Yankee, yeah
He took me back to East Atlanta, na-na-na (DY)
Oh, but my heart is in Havana
My heart is in Havana (ayy)
Havana, ooh na-na

Music Monday – Waiting

It’s #MusicMonday and I’ve got ‘Waiting’ by Steele, which is a perfect song because I’ve been in full blown chaos mode for over a week now. Working on release stuff for Imperfect Monster, in panic mode trying to finish it (haha!), while also planning and working on the Roulette Redux release in February! #cackles Not to mention the new job and life in general being psycho… that’s why this song is just lovely to listen to. Her voice is beautiful, it’s smooth and soft, and and I just love how it lowers my blood pressure. **DEEP BREATHS EVERYONE** We’re going to survive the week.

Lyrics

You know, I know things are not the same.
I tried to forgive you,
but then you do it all again.
And you know that I can force you to stop,
when I started.
Neither can I push my way into your heart,
but I’ll be waiting,
for the time,
for the time when you’ll be all and nothing,
but mine.
Yeah I’ll be waiting,
for the time,
for the time when you’ll be all and nothing,
but mine.
Ooh…

I don’t feel comfortable in my skin now.
You tried to tell the truth,
but I am still lost somehow.
And you know that I can feel it,
it shows, I’m sure,
but you don’t love me like you did anymore.
But I’ll be waiting
for the time,
for the time when you’ll be all and nothing,
but mine.
Yeah I’ll be waiting
for the time,
for the time when you’ll be all and nothing,
but mine.
Ooh…

You know that I know things are not the same.
I try to make it right, but I am getting all the blame.
Umm, umm, aah…
But I’ll be waiting
for the time,
for the time when you’ll be all and nothing,
but mine.
Yeah I’ll be waiting
for the time,
for the time when you’ll be all and nothing,
but mine.
Ooh…

Music Monday – Strange Enough

It’s #MusicMonday and the first day of the New Year! I hope that you’ve looked back on all your wins, and challenges, from 2017 and that you’re not looking forward to 2018 with hopes and goals. I know that I am, lovelies! Today’s song is ‘Strange Enough’ by VÉRITÉ, and I think it’s a great song to kick off the year. The lyrics are amazing as always (how can you not love the lines ‘Slow down, pick up the pieces I’ve found. We’re living our lives half asleep.’ ????) Seriously, it’s a wonderful song, her voice is beautiful, the rhythm is on point, and I think it’s a great song to kick off 2018 with! Enjoy!

Lyrics

Cause I- I- I wanna fall,
but every time you leave me down on the floor.
Memories keep rushing round,
cause nothing ever stays the same.

Cause maybe I’m just addicted to
the things I lack, and the way you move.
In circles run, round a figure eight,
always running off meeting up in the same place.
Slow down,
pick up the pieces I’ve found.
We’re living our lives half asleep,
living our lives half asleep.

Cause I- I- I wanna go
where everything’s the sa-a-a-ame.
Memories keep rushing round
and all we ever do is change.
Cause I- I- I wanna fall,
but every time you leave me down on the floor.
Picturing the ways we move,
cause nothing ever stays the same.

Oh, oh, oh, ohhh…

Separate a fragile spine.
A hollow hope,
just to make things right.
I’ve been picking up pieces slowly,
and wondering why you hold me.
Take me back to the way it was before!

Cause I- I- I wanna go
where everything’s the sa-a-a-ame.
Memories keep rushing round
and all we ever do is change.
Cause I- I- I wanna fall,
but every time you leave me down on the floor.
Picturing the ways we move,
cause nothing ever stays the same.

Strange enough, I don’t love you like you want me to.
Strange enough, I don’t love you like you want me to.

Strange enough, I don’t love you like you want me to.
Strange enough, I don’t love you like you want me-
like you want.

‘Strange Enough’ by VÉRITÉ

Music Monday – Free Animal

First of all, Merry Christmas, lovelies to all of you who celebrate! I know many of you may not get the chance to see this until after all of the festivities, but I wanted to give you a fun one for today. Today’s #MusicMonday is ‘Free Animal’ by Foreign Air. I love this one because it’s so lively and this guy’s voice is awesome. It was such an amazing week. My mom got out of the hospital and is feeling great, I got the promotion I’ve been working towards for two years, and wrapped up ‘Unrestrained’ my story for Black Light: Roulette Redux! BAM! So, now we get to spend time with family and friends and work on wrapping this year up with love! <3

Favorite Lyrics

My heart beats in patterns to the broken sound,
you’re the only one that can calm me down.
My head spins in circles so I’m dizzy now,
all of this time I should’ve figured it out.

I’m a free animal, free animal! Ha!
I’m a free animal, free animal! Ha!
Free animal, free animal…
My heart beats in patterns to the broken sound…
Free animal, free animal…
You’re the only one that can calm me down.

You get what you came for, what you stayed for,
I only know how to satisfy your craving.
This is what you crave.
Know what you’re made of, what you’re made of,
flesh and bones won’t lie,
they won’t lie.

Free animal, free animal…
My heart beats in patterns to the broken sound…
Free animal, free animal…
You’re the only one that can calm me down.

Music Monday – Darkside

Okay, lovelies, it’s #MusicMonday and I’m excited to bring you this song that I heard on the trailer for Bright, coming to Netflix this Friday, December 22nd. I am so excited to see it (watch the trailer here) because I love all of the magical / paranormal and this looks like such a creative take on it. And this song captured me as I watched the preview, and it apparently captured a lot of other people too as they posted asking about it! Enjoy!!

Lyrics

[Kiiara:]
Some days I can’t get out of my head,
that’s just the dark side of me.
Some nights, it’s hard for me to fall asleep,
that’s just the dark side of me.
If you ever ever call my name, name,
you will find out that we’re both the same.
When the lights go out, I need to know,
are you afraid of the dark?
I’m not afraid of the dark.

[Ty Dolla $ign:]
I am not afraid, I am not afraid (‘fraid).
Sick of the oppression and all the hate (hate).
Money and the power, social rank (rank).
Lot of pride now, not enough loyalty (ooh, yeah).
Had to change my life for the better things (yeah).
Had to boss up and overcome adversity (yeah).
I put my brother in position (in position),
I know some didn’t see the vision (see the vision),
I’m just livin’ by tradition.
And I’d die for my respect (respect…),
and I’d die for my Patek (‘tek, ‘tek…),
you might die for disrespect.
And I’m not afraid (‘fraid),
last time I checked, I ain’t ever been scared of nobody.
I wanna know when it get real (real),
who gon’ be out on the front line in the field (field)?
Who gon’ be there for the good times and the bad?
I’m already knowin’ ain’t nobody got my back.

[Kiiara & Ty Dolla $ign:]
Some days I close my eyes and fade away, (and I fade away…)
That’s just the dark side of me.
Some nights all the colors turn to grey, (some nights all the colors turn to grey)
Just like the dark side of me.
I’m not afraid of the dark!

[Future:]
I went way beyond anyone’s expectations.
Got the ‘Rarri turned on just in case we’re racin’,
I was already in the third gear by the time niggas hatin’,
who gon’ be in the field for me when I make it?
Started off in the trenches, how I’ma ever go pop?
Already on the moon, already with the goons,
already on shrooms (already on shrooms…).
I’m already on Easter, I’m already as a teacher.
Watch for the throne, I’m like Yeezus,
they tryna clone me, thinkin’ I don’t see ’em.
They take subliminal shots, thinkin’ we don’t hear ’em,
I’m one-of-a-kind, that’s how I’m gon’ kill ’em.

[Kiiara & Ty Dolla $ign:]
I’ve got a human heart, I’ve got a human heart,
are you afraid of the dark?
The dark, (the dark), the dark, (the dark), the dark?
I’ve got a human heart, I’ve got a human heart,
are you afraid of the dark?
The dark, (the dark), the dark, (the dark), the dark, (the dark)?

Some days I close my eyes and fade away, (and I fade away…)
That’s just the dark side of me.
Some nights all the colors turn to grey, (some nights all the colors turn to grey)
Just like the dark side of me.
I’m not afraid of the dark!
(The dark, the dark, the dark…)
I’m not afraid of the dark!
(The dark, the dark, the dark…)
I’m not afraid of the dark.

Music Monday – Radio Lust

It’s #MusicMonday and I have the sexiest song for you guys today, it’s “Radio Lust” by The Blancos, and I fell in love with it the moment I heard it last week… and then promptly listened to it 100x. Because, that’s what you do. Seriously, read the lyrics, listen to his voice (like melted chocolate), there’s no video but you can scroll down, hit play, and ENJOY! I have so many fun things coming your way, lovelies. I spent the weekend writing my story for the next Valentine Roulette boxset coming in February from Black Collar Press, this one will be called ‘Roulette Redux’ and I posted a very sinful teaser in my Dark Haven, so go check it out if you missed it!

Lyrics

Let’s pretend we’re going home,
rolling down devil’s food road.
You could be my centerfold,
sweetest sin I’ve ever known.
Take off your blouse under your coat,
and if you could pass me a smoke.
Put your hands up on the dashboard,
keep your panties on the floor.

Cause we’ve been sitting in my car alone,
we’ve been listening to my radio,
we’ve been trying to ease our filthy souls,
we’ve been listening to my radio…
To my radio…

Put the heat on if you’re cold,
try to make yourself at home.
I know you’re frisky from the snow,
we got time to take it slow.
You look so good without your clothes.
There’s nowhere else I wanna go.
‘Cause the temperature is rising,
I know your lips could keep me warm.

Cause we’ve been sitting in my car alone,
we’ve been listening to my radio,
we’ve been trying to ease our filthy souls,
we’ve been listening to my radio…
To my radio…

Don’t you try to pretend.
Why you looking at me with false eyes?
You came here with intentions,
with open legs in the passenger side.

Cause we’ve been sitting in my car alone,
we’ve been listening to my radio,
we’ve been trying to ease our filthy souls,
we’ve been listening to my radio…
To my radio… [x3]
