It’s funny that today’s #MusicMonday is ‘Monster’ by Aaron Richards, because it really just happened to be the next song on my playlist, but since it’s coming out just after ‘Imperfect Monster’ it seems like destiny. Although, this is a very soothing, soft song, and I love the vocals, it’s really the lyrics that make it so damn perfect for the book, even though I honestly didn’t plan it! So make sure you read them while you listen, lovelies!

Lyrics

There’s no excuse for what I do,
can’t justify the way I feel inside.
I try to change,
pick up the broken pieces and rearrange,
but it’s no use.

I can’t hide.
Peel away my cracked disguise,
shine a light on all my lies,
no more living life in denial.

I am a monster,
I’ll hurt you.
And everyone I touch, in the end,
will be burned too.
So keep your distance from my love,
or wind up a victim of my lust.
Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Oh, oh, oh…

No excuse for what I do,
can’t justify the way I feel inside.
I try to change,
pick up the broken pieces and rearrange,
but it’s no use.

I can’t hide,
from myself though I’ve tried.

I am a monster,
I’ll hurt you.
And everyone I touch, in the end,
will be burned too.
So keep your distance from my love,
or wind up a victim of my lust.
Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Oh, oh, oh…

Do you look at me differently now?
Now that you see what I can be?
Can you save me?
Can you change me?
No, you can’t!

I am a monster,
I’ll hurt you, oh
Hurt you…
