Music time, lovelies! That’s right, it’s #MusicMonday again and I’ve got “Deeper than the Dark” from Patients which (strangely enough) does not sound like that dark of a song. Still, prostitution and pain and angels singing about suffering are bound to catch my attention. I know, odd, but I still love the lyrics + voice + instrumental combination which almost edges towards a cinematic crescendo near the end. Curious? You’ll have to see what I mean. (the video seems to be footage of air strikes, which is weird to me and doesn’t go with the song, but… you can listen to it!)

In my corner of the world I’ve got the dark boxset which the other ladies are hurrying to finish, and then I’ve got my work-in-progress which is an intense rewrite on an older story that I am… pretty much completely changing, and then expanding. I think you lovelies are going to like both of these dark releases! In the meantime, enjoy the song below!

Lyrics

Let the love wash over you,
like a virgin prostitute.
In the thick tropical gloom,
orchids bloom,
inside of you.

There’s a brightness in your veins,
like apocalyptic rain.
Let it rush right through your brain.
It’s too strange,
to be pain.

Hark, the herald angels sing,
a song of suffering,
for girls like you.
Mark, my words awakening,
the earth is trembling,
for girls like you,
girls like you.

By the light of fallen stars,
in the backseat of his car,
you are deeper than the dark.
But it’s hard,
to drop your guard.

See the future in the flames,
feel the faces rearrange,
til the men all look the same.
It’s too strange,
to be pain.

Hark, the herald angels sing,
a song of suffering,
for girls like you.
Mark, my words awakening,
the earth is trembling,
for girls like you,
girls like me,
girls like you,
girls like me…
